How Much Does a New Kitchen Cost?
Honest guide prices, what sits behind them, and what is included.
A new fitted kitchen from Bentley Kitchens typically costs between £7,000 and £40,000, depending on the size of the room, the layout and the finish. A compact single-wall kitchen starts around £7,000 to £12,000. An L-shape with a breakfast bar, which is the most common choice, runs from £12,000 to £18,000. A larger L-shape with an island and a range cooker starts at £18,000 and rises from there. Every figure includes supply, delivery, all trades and professional installation.

What Moves the Price
Six things account for most of the difference between one kitchen and another.
Size and layout
The number of units is the single biggest factor. Adding an island typically adds several thousand pounds, because it needs cabinetry, worktop and often power and plumbing run to it.
Worktop material
The gap between laminate and quartz or granite across a full kitchen can run to several thousand pounds. Laminate is the cost-effective choice; sintered stone and natural granite sit at the top.
Appliances
Appliance choice moves the total more than most people expect. A range cooker with extraction, wine cooler and boiling tap will add meaningfully over a standard oven, hob and hood.
Door style and finish
Hand-painted and spray-finished doors cost more than foil-wrapped. Handleless designs carry a small premium over handled, because of the rail systems involved.
Building work
Removing a wall, moving plumbing or electrics, replastering or new flooring all add to the project. Because we handle these trades ourselves they are quoted in the same figure rather than arriving separately.
Storage and interiors
Pull-out larders, corner solutions, drawer inserts and integrated bins are where a kitchen becomes genuinely easy to live with. They are worth budgeting for rather than treating as an afterthought.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about kitchen prices and what they cover.
A fitted kitchen typically costs between £7,000 and £40,000 installed. A compact single-wall kitchen is usually £7,000 to £12,000, an L-shape with a breakfast bar £12,000 to £18,000, and a larger L-shape with an island and range cooker £18,000 upwards. These are guide ranges including supply, all trades and installation. Your own figure is fixed in writing after a free home survey.
Everything needed to go from your existing kitchen to a finished one. That covers design, cabinetry, worktops, delivery, removal of the old kitchen, plumbing, electrics, gas, plastering, tiling, flooring, decorating and installation, plus a 10 year guarantee. Because we manage every trade in-house there is no separate bill arriving later from a plumber or an electrician.
Usually because they cover different things. Many quotes are for supply and fit of the units only, leaving you to arrange and pay for the plumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling and decorating separately. Ours is a single figure for the finished room. When comparing quotes, the question worth asking is what is not included.
Yes. A compact single-wall or galley kitchen starts around £7,000 including installation. Choosing laminate worktops over stone, keeping the existing layout so plumbing and electrics do not move, and specifying standard appliances all keep the figure down without compromising the build quality of the cabinetry.
Please ask when you book your design visit and we will talk you through the options currently available. Payment is staged through the project rather than taken in full up front.
A single fitted wardrobe run typically costs £3,000 to £5,000, a full wall of floor-to-ceiling wardrobes £5,000 to £9,000, and a complete walk-in dressing room from £9,000 upwards. As with kitchens, every price includes design, manufacture and professional installation.
The written quote you receive after the survey is fixed for the work specified in it. It only changes if you decide to change something, or if opening up the room reveals something genuinely unforeseeable, such as unsafe existing wiring. In that case we tell you before doing the work, not afterwards.
